The new Itaca version called Itaca Melting Shop is specifically and exclusively conceived for the melting shop and it has (in addiction to the typical functions of Itaca) other important characteristics:
Calculation of iron temperature in the melting furnace (using type S probes);
Remotability of the data on each melting furnace;
Data saving on a specific Database consultable by Internet or Intranet;
Connectivity with spectrometer.
Itaca Melting Shop uses some industrial panel pc to be installed close to each melting furnace, that operate as remote monitors and at the same time the main pc stays in a confortable position for the supervisor or anyway, more secure. This solution has enormous advantages compared to the traditional one:
To put in direct communication the responsible of melting shop with all other operators of the melting furnaces (the chief can communicate through the main pc and transmit some messages to the operators that will read them on their panel pc. All this is traced and saved);
To automatically save on a centralized Database all the information.
On the display, the operator on the furnace will:
Receive messages from the chief (and even send them, in active mode);
Control the spectrometer analysis;
Have information on the quality trend for the iron poured on the moulding lines;
Evaluate the trend for the parameters as temperature Tmelt, %C, %Si, %Ceq.
It is not anymore necessary to write temperature and chemical composition of the melting furnace on a block notes, to write them on a Database. Itaca Melting Shop operates in an automatic way and for each acquisition all the information (operator, date, time, temperature Tmelt and thermal parameters, composition from spectrometer, …) on a specific database. In real time, the users with permission will be able to monitor the production from remote positions.
