Optimizing the inoculation of a ductile cast iron using thermal analysis
This article shows an example of optimization in using consumable (in particular, inoculants) made by Fonderie Vénissieux (France) and obtained by constantly working with the thermal analysis software Itaca 7 to evaluate the evolution of the quality of the iron. The foundry was able to find out the proper type and quantity of inoculant in order to steadily maintain a good metallurgical quality.
