“On October 18th, in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao, the seminar on intelligent foundry production monitoring technology, and in particular on its application ITACA X, has been held successfully, sponsored by the Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES), ProService from Italy and Qingdao UNO Drive Technology Co., Ltd.
During the meeting, representatives from China FAW group, CMS group, Suzhou CMB, Qingte Group, LMC Group, Bosch Mahle, Conmet group from the US, and many other foundry and OEMs attended the meeting. The delegates conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the trend and direction of the current foundry industry concerning particularly on melting and production technology and intelligent quality management.
The Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES) specially invited Mr. Nicola Segreto, General Manager of ProService from Italy, and Mr. Liu Jiapeng, General Manager of Qingdao UNO Drive. Based on the advanced international melting technology and intelligent quality management, they discussed with domestic foundries the application of intelligent foundry production technology.
At the meeting, topics as: European digital management of foundry melting technology, European production control and quality control, digital monitoring of the process, integration of digital process control, simulation and application of domestic digital integration system led to active discussion of all the guests present.
Delegates generally agreed that in the current foundry industry, the level of the digitalization development is not balanced from melting to the production and quality management. Due to the quality problems in the production process, it is difficult to make early warnings or difficult to control it in time and accurately, resulting in a large number of defective products flowing into the next process, especially for large-volume, high-quality automotive parts, resulting in product scraps or even vehicle recall with big quality problems and huge economic losses. In order to comply with the trend of the foundry industry and solve the actual production and application problems of the foundry, the intelligent monitoring of casting production technology is particularly important!
