ITACA Sampler

ITACA Sampler is used to take cast iron or steel directly from the melt, to make metal samples for chemical analysis with the spectrometer and/or LECO.

The ‘medals’ have a diameter of 32,5 mm and a thickness of 4 or 6 mm for cast iron, while the 12 mm thickness is used for steel.

The sampler is handled with a cardboard tube (the same as for thermocouples) that is threaded through the bottom.

Furthermore, thanks to the perfect perpendicularity of the medal surfaces, this sample is more suitable for the radiometric control, nowadays mandatory for all the cast iron foundries.
